How to Configure Your Custom PAPR Kit
When it comes to respiratory protection, one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why PiONAiR PAPR (Powered Air-Purifying Respirator) kits are fully customisable—so you can build the setup that works best for your environment, task, and team. Here's a quick guide to the essential components you'll need to configure your own PAPR kit:
1. Blower Unit
This is the heart of your PAPR system. The blower pulls contaminated air through filters and delivers clean, breathable air to the wearer. Choose a blower based on battery life, airflow rate, and compatibility with different filter types.
2. Headtop
Your headtop provides both respiratory and, often, eye or face protection. Options include lightweight hoods, full-face shields, or helmets, depending on the hazard and comfort requirements of your job.
3. Breathing Hose
This connects the blower to the headtop. PiONAiR offers a standard hose or a more premium flexible option. The flexible hose allows for greater movement and comfort for demanding environments.
4. Belt or Harness
The blower unit is typically worn on a belt or harness to keep it secure and comfortable throughout the day. We offer a comfort belt option with extra padding or a decontaminatable belt constructed so it is easy to submerge for cleaning.
Optional Accessories:
Storage & Carry Bags: Keep your kit organised and protected between uses.
Spare Filters: Always have replacements on hand to maintain performance and compliance.
Battery Packs & Chargers: For longer shifts or quick changeovers.
